Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Technician (2nd Shift)
Job Description
This 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic Technician role focuses on installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The position is hands-on and involves mechanical work, welding, fabrication, and working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of production and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems, to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on heavy industrial machinery and computer-controlled production equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, complex programs, and equipment manuals with a high degree of comprehension and accuracy.
- Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment and components.
- Apply basic carpentry and math skills in support of maintenance and repair activities.
- Work with AC/DC motor controls, wiring, and related electrical systems to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Support PLC-based systems and equipment by troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments within established guidelines.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and electricians to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work area and follow all plant safety procedures in a dusty, heavy industrial environment.
Essential Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of industrial equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
- At least 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic within a manufacturing environment, ideally in heavy industrial operations.
- Proven experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Proven experience in fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, complex programs, and equipment manuals accurately.
- Experience with PLC-controlled and computer-controlled production equipment.
- Experience with AC/DC motor control and related electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift in a heavy industrial plant.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree from a technical school or university, or equivalent work experience.
- An associate degree in Electrical Technology is preferred.
- Graduation from a technical training institution in an electrical or electronic systems program is preferred.
- Experience with PLC programming and PLC-based troubleshooting.
- Experience in industrial electrical work, including wiring and electronics.
- Background as a maintenance technician, electrician, or industrial mechanic.
- Strong basic carpentry and math skills.
- Comfort working in a highly industrial, dusty environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a dusty, highly industrial plant that operates heavy manufacturing equipment and production lines. The environment is hands-on and fast-paced, with frequent interaction with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
