Location: Henrico area of Richmond, VA
Salary: up to 140k base + bonus + package
Position Overview
We are a reputable CPA firm seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Manager with a CPA certification to join our team in a hybrid work environment. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, providing strategic tax advisory services, and managing client relationships effectively.
We are looking for a Tax Manager that can prep, review, and sign returns and be an integral part of our office. This is a leadership role and we need an expert on the technical aspects of 1040's, 1120's, etc.
We are looking for proven experience in tax review and consulting for individual, corporate, and partnership clients - this could also be a Tax Senior or Tax Supervisor looking to move into a Tax Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for individual and corporate clients
- Conduct thorough tax planning and research to provide strategic advice to clients
- Ensure adherence to IRS regulations and stay updated on changes in tax laws
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Conduct audits and reviews of tax filings and financial reports as needed
- Communicate effectively with clients to address their tax-related inquiries and provide guidance
- Develop and implement tax strategies that align with clients' financial goals
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated tax planning and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Active CPA certification is required or EA able to obtain CPA
- Minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in public accounting, tax, and taxation
- Strong knowledge of IRS regulations and tax laws
- Proficiency in financial reporting and auditing
- Proficiency in UltraTax, Practice CS software, or CCH
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a hybrid work environment
