Special Education Teacher in Lewistown, PA

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher this summer, guiding elementary school students toward success. This position runs from July 13 to July 30 and is designed to provide essential learning support through both push-in and pull-out services. Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching license in Pennsylvania
• Demonstrated ability to deliver individualized and small-group instruction
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in a learning support setting is preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom climate

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students with diverse learning needs within general education classrooms (push-in) and in dedicated support settings (pull-out)
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify lessons and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to promote academic and social-emotional growth
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families and staff
• Contribute to development and review of IEP goals alongside colleagues and support personnel
