Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Opportunity

A leading healthcare organization in the Houston area is seeking an experienced Bilingual Patient Access Representative to join its patient services team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong customer service skills, healthcare registration experience, and a background in insurance verification and appointment scheduling.

The Patient Access Representative will serve as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, eligibility verification, scheduling, and payment processing while delivering exceptional customer service in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits coverage
  • Perform health insurance verification and authorization support
  • Ensure medical necessity compliance requirements are met
  • Process patient registrations and demographic updates
  • Collect copays and assist with billing-related inquiries
  • Post payments accurately and maintain financial records
  • Handle inbound and outbound patient calls professionally
  • Process referrals and maintain patient records
  • Document patient interactions within EMR/EHR systems
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to patients and healthcare staff

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Patient Access, Patient Registration, Medical Reception, or Healthcare Customer Service experience
  • Previous call center experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Insurance verification and eligibility verification experience
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • Strong data entry and computer skills
  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Experience scheduling patient appointments
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and time-management skills
