Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment, with a strong emphasis on PLC-controlled systems, electrical and mechanical components, and injection molding machinery. You will support continuous production by diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and executing preventive maintenance to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. Pay: Based off skills/experience $34-40.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with automation equipment, including PLC-controlled systems, sensors, vision systems, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Use multimeters and voltmeters to test electrical circuits, verify voltages, and identify faults in drives and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to support troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Inspect and test air-powered systems to ensure proper function and identify leaks or performance issues.
- Change out motors, drives, and other mechanical or electrical components as needed to restore equipment operation.
- Support injection molding equipment by identifying and resolving automation and control-related issues.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and findings to support ongoing reliability and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to equipment issues.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with automation systems, including PLCs and related control equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and resolve control-related issues.
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), including identifying and resolving drive-related problems.
- Ability to work with sensors, vision systems, and other automation components.
- Proficiency using multimeters and voltmeters to test and diagnose electrical circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Comfort performing physically demanding tasks, including changing out motors and other components.
- Willingness to work on a 3rd shift, 12-hour rotating schedule.

Work Environment
This position is on 3rd shift with a 12-hour rotating schedule (C-Shift), typically from 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. on a 2-2-3 rotation. The facility operates as an injection molding environment with significant use of automation, including PLCs, sensors, vision systems, VFDs, and air-powered systems. You will regularly use tools such as multimeters and voltmeters and work around industrial machinery, drives, motors, and automated equipment. The role is hands-on and may involve working in areas with noise, moving equipment, and typical manufacturing conditions, requiring comfort with getting your hands dirty while performing repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
