Machinist

Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

• Manufacture precision parts and components according to engineering requirements

• Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments

• Maintain equipment and ensure proper machine operation

• Conduct routine quality checks to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances

• Collaborate with supervisors and production teams to meet project timelines and production goals

• Troubleshoot machining and manufacturing issues as needed

• Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications and Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Experience operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and similar machining equipment

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

• Experience using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges

• Strong understanding of machining techniques and manufacturing processes

• Knowledge of quality assurance and inspection procedures

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Technical or vocational machining training preferred

• Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, pump manufacturing, or water and wastewater equipment industries preferred
