DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supervises clerical staff and oversees the processing of multiple background check systems that support child safety across Pennsylvania. The role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with state and federal requirements. As a Clerical Supervisor 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Background Check Oversight: Review and guide multiple clearance processes to ensure accurate and timely results
- Staff Supervision: Provide direction, evaluate performance, and coordinate training needs for clerical employees
- Workflow Management: Analyze workload levels, adjust assignments, and support efficient daily operations
- Quality Review: Examine documents and data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with required standards
- Communication Duties: Share information clearly with staff, applicants, and partner offices to support understanding of policies and requirements
- Record Maintenance: Ensure confidential information is handled properly and that procedures and manuals remain current

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of as a Clerical Assistant 2(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
