Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic repairs, maintains, and improves high-speed manufacturing production equipment in a heavy industrial environment. This role focuses on preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair high-speed production equipment to ensure efficient operation
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery including palletizers, stamping machines, conveyors, and mixers
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems (including 480V, 3-phase)
• Perform preventative maintenance and replace components such as motors, valves, and hoses
• Complete light welding and fabrication work as needed
• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment and production processes
• Support machine start-ups and changeovers to minimize downtime
• Use hand tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery safely and effectively
• Maintain equipment calibration per manufacturer standards
• Follow all safety protocols and document maintenance activities and issues

Essential Skills

• 5–10+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Strong mechanical experience with high-speed production equipment (conveyors, palletizers, stamping machines, mixers, etc.)
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLCs and 480V, 3-phase power
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and component replacement (motors, valves, hoses)
• Skilled in stick welding and basic fabrication
• Ability to safely use hand tools, torches, welders, and grinding equipment
• Comfortable working with heavy equipment, including concrete and rock-processing machinery

Work Environment

This is a full-time, 1st shift role working Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday overtime. The facility operates in a heavy industrial environment producing pavers, with loud, dirty conditions and temperature extremes. Employees must follow strict safety protocols and wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and hard hats where applicable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $32.00/hr.
