Job Title: Sanitation Technician
Job Description

The Sanitation Technician maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility by performing daily and deep cleaning tasks throughout the plant. This role follows established sanitation schedules, supports food safety and quality standards, and completes required documentation to ensure compliance with all sanitation and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks in accordance with the Master Sanitation and Deep Cleaning Schedules.
  • Clean and sanitize all assigned areas of the plant, including production areas, break rooms, locker rooms, offices, corridors, and other common spaces.
  • Carry out general cleaning and sanitation of equipment and building surfaces to support food safety and quality standards.
  • Inspect areas and equipment to verify cleanliness and identify any sanitation or safety issues.
  • Organize and maintain janitorial supplies and work areas to ensure they are clean, stocked, and orderly.
  • Work safely and efficiently in all areas of the plant, following all safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report any potential food safety or quality issues to management.
  • Complete all required paperwork and sanitation records accurately and on time to meet documentation requirements.
  • Assist in executing the pest control program, including monitoring the facility for signs of pest activity and reporting findings.
  • Perform non-routine cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned, including special projects and deep cleaning activities.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of cleaning and sanitation experience.
  • Experience with general cleaning and sanitation of equipment and building areas.
  • Ability to follow Master Sanitation and Deep Cleaning Schedules.
  • Ability to perform inspections to verify cleanliness and identify sanitation issues.
  • Understanding of basic sanitation and food safety principles.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with Quality Assurance policies.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork and documentation accurately.
  • Capability to work safely and efficiently in a production plant environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with janitorial duties in a production, manufacturing, or food-related environment.
  • Familiarity with pest control monitoring in a facility setting.
  • Strong attention to detail in cleaning and inspection tasks.
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain orderly janitorial supply areas.
  • Willingness to perform both routine and non-routine cleaning tasks as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in a production plant where most areas are kept in a cooler environment, though temperatures in some production zones can reach up to approximately 90 degrees. The position requires wearing a hair net, lab coat, gloves, and booties while cleaning in the factory, and uniforms are provided for daily use. Steel-toe footwear is required each day. Work involves moving between different areas of the facility and performing hands-on cleaning and sanitation tasks in an active production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Le Sueur, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
