Job Title: Superintendent

Job Description

Join a dynamic project on the Southside of Chicago, focusing on the closeout and punchlist items for a Field House. Contribute to a team that consistently grows despite economic challenges, with many projects centered around government and military contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the completion of punchlist items and project closeout.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Monitor project progress and report deviations from plans.
  • Help manage project schedules and deadlines.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and conflict resolution on-site.
  • Maintain project documentation and records.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in construction, site construction, and renovation.
  • Proficiency in construction management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of Procore and quality control processes.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and ensure construction safety.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling and steel structure projects.
  • Understanding of federal government construction standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong interest in the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of construction procedures and material management.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic proficiency in construction management software is a plus.

Work Environment

This role involves working on Field House projects for a period of 3 months with the potential for a long-term extension up to 6 months. The work environment is dynamic and involves close collaboration with various stakeholders. The project offers stability due to its focus on government and military contracts, providing less impact from economic volatility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69/hr.
