Job Title: Marine Electrician

Job Description

The electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role ensures that all electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local building regulations.

Pay: 28-30/hr

Shift: 7am to 3:30

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and understand technical documents such as blueprints, circuit diagrams, and schematics to determine the layout and routing of electrical systems.
  • Install electrical system components, including running conduit, pulling wires, and installing control panels, switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using specialized testing tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, and cable testers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting and servicing transformers, circuit breakers, and electrical networks to reduce the risk of system failures.
  • Execute repairs by fixing or replacing faulty components, aging wiring, or broken electrical fixtures using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations, prioritizing safety and reliability in every task.
  • Document work performed, including installations, maintenance activities, and repairs, to support accurate records and future service needs.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on experience running conduit, pulling wires, and installing control panels, switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues using testing tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, and cable testers.
  • Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on transformers, circuit breakers, and electrical networks.
  • Competence in executing safe and accurate repairs on faulty components, wiring, and electrical fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Thorough understanding of and adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations.
  • Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and reliability in all electrical work performed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
