Certified A&P Mechanic – Piston Fleet, Flight Training Operation

Location: Georgetown, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time, 5 days a week



About Client

A well-established flight training organization operating a modern fleet of single-engine piston aircraft. Daily operations are high-volume, aircraft availability is critical, and the maintenance team plays a direct role in keeping training safe and on schedule.



Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $35–$40/hour — Based on experience and qualifications

  • Starting Bonus: $1,000 sign-on bonus

Job Summary

Handle both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a piston-powered training fleet where aircraft readiness is mission-critical. Ideal for hands-on mechanics who own their work, follow regulatory standards without prompting, and take pride in keeping aircraft safe and airworthy.



Key Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on piston-powered general aviation aircraft

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and return aircraft to service in compliance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and company maintenance procedures

  • Reference and apply maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives

  • Complete thorough aircraft logbook entries and maintenance records

  • Keep the work environment clean, orderly, and consistently safety-focused

  • Collaborate with fellow mechanics and operational teams to support fleet readiness

  • Reprioritize tasks in response to aircraft availability and changing flight training schedules

  • Cover day or night shift as assigned to meet operational requirements



Minimum Requirements

  • Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate (required)

  • At least 3 recent years of experience as a certificated A&P on piston-powered GA aircraft (Piper, Diamond, Cirrus, or comparable)

  • Flight school or training fleet background strongly preferred

  • Solid understanding of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91

  • Capable of working independently and making sound, confident airworthiness calls

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; comfortable using maintenance tracking software

  • Willing to work day or night shifts based on operational needs

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling as needed

  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors around active aircraft, fuels, solvents, and shop equipment
