About this job
Join our travel Speech Language Pathologist team and use your skills where they are needed most in Mound City, MO. You will evaluate and treat patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing facility setting. You will utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices, document treatment and outcomes in the electronic health record, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and provide consultation to patients, families, and staff.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or equivalent experience. New graduates are acceptable if they have Level II clinical experience rather than only Level I observation experience.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is required.
- Active Missouri state license to practice as an SLP is required. Compact licensure accepted where applicable.
- Minimum of 1 year of SLP clinical experience. Experience in long term care or inpatient rehabilitation is required.
- Ability to evaluate and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders and to develop and adjust plans of care per regulatory and clinical standards.
- Ability to document regulatory and clinically required information accurately in the electronic documentation system and to record treatment minutes per requirements.
- Ability to supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience holding active CCCs preferred.
- Experience obtaining necessary DME or supplies in compliance with clinical requirements is preferred.
Assignment Details
- M-F, 8 hour days. Times are flexible as long as consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab.
- Start time requested to be no earlier than before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM.
- No weekends required unless a holiday falls within Monday–Friday; hours may be made up on the weekend in that circumstance.
- 35 GWW.

Impacting Patient Care
You will provide skilled speech-language services that support patient safety, communication, and swallowing function in a long term care environment. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, participate in care conferences and utilization reviews, and deliver discharge summaries and recommendations per clinical and regulatory standards. You must adhere to ASHA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics.
