RNC Field Manager

Position Summary


The Residential New Construction (RNC) Field Manager is responsible for directing and managing field operations, workforce performance, project execution, installation quality, scheduling coordination, material procurement, and operational efficiency for residential new construction plumbing projects. This role exercises discretion and independent judgment in managing field personnel, prioritizing operational resources, resolving jobsite issues, ensuring compliance with company standards, and supporting project profitability and timely completion.


The position serves as a key operational leader responsible for coordinating construction activities between field teams, contractors, builders, vendors, and company leadership while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company objectives. The RNC Field Manager is accountable for ensuring projects are staffed appropriately, materials are available when needed, and installations are completed in accordance with company quality standards, project schedules, and budget expectations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Direct and oversee daily field operations for residential new construction plumbing projects across multiple active job sites.
  • Supervise field crews, lead personnel, and subcontractors while managing workforce productivity, job performance, and operational accountability.
  • Exercise independent judgment in coordinating manpower allocation, project scheduling, workflow prioritization, and operational resource planning.
  • Monitor installation quality, project progress, labor efficiency, and operational performance to ensure timely and profitable project completion.
  • Conduct routine jobsite visits, inspections, operational reviews, and quality control evaluations.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, scheduling conflicts, construction delays, workmanship concerns, and customer or builder-related issues.
  • Coordinate directly with builders, contractors, inspectors, vendors, and internal departments regarding project schedules, operational requirements, and field execution.
  • Review and interpret construction blueprints, plumbing plans, specifications, and scope documents to ensure accurate project execution, material planning, and installation compliance.
  • Coordinate material procurement, purchasing, delivery schedules, inventory requirements, and vendor relationships to support project timelines and field productivity.
  • Manage material forecasting and ordering to ensure adequate jobsite inventory while minimizing project delays and material shortages.
  • Coordinate and manage equipment, materials, and workforce resources to support multiple concurrent construction projects and changing project demands.
  • Monitor labor utilization, project costs, operational efficiency, and workforce productivity to support profitability and budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, construction requirements, and applicable building codes.

  • Qualifications


  • 10+ years of residential new construction plumbing experience, including supervisory or field leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience managing residential plumbing new construction operations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from residential construction blueprints, plans, specifications, and related project documents.
  • Strong leadership, workforce management, and operational coordination skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding field operations, scheduling, staffing, purchasing, and project execution.
  • Strong understanding of residential plumbing installation practices, construction methods, safety procedures, building codes, and project coordination.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk active construction job sites and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Ability to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, and access construction areas as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel between multiple job sites as required.
