Senior Superintendent

The Senior Superintendent will lead field operations for large-scale church and ministry construction projects, serving as the on-site leader responsible for safety, quality, schedule, and overall client experience. This role requires a relationship-driven builder who understands the unique nature of ministry environments and can successfully execute complex projects while remaining sensitive to active congregations and leadership.

This individual must be equally strong in operational execution and client engagement, ensuring that projects align with the ministry's vision, mission, and long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient execution
  • Develop, maintain, and drive detailed project schedules and sequencing plans
  • Lead regular coordination meetings with project teams and key stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain schedule and budget commitments

Client & Ministry Partnership

  • Act as the primary on-site representative and build strong relationships with church leadership and staff
  • Maintain a high level of communication, transparency, and professionalism
  • Ensure construction activities align with ongoing church operations, services, and events
  • Demonstrate a service-oriented approach, recognizing the importance of the facility to the congregation and community

Budget & Cost Awareness

  • Support strict adherence to project budgets and financial goals
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities and cost efficiencies in the field
  • Collaborate with the project team to minimize change orders and avoid cost overruns

Safety & Quality

  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and promote a zero-incident culture
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality expectations
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintain accountability across all trades

Planning & Preconstruction Support

  • Provide field expertise during preconstruction and design phases
  • Assist with constructability reviews, site logistics planning, and phasing strategies
  • Contribute to planning efforts for complex or occupied campus environments

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience with increasing leadership responsibility
  • 5+ years as a Lead or Senior Superintendent on large-scale projects
  • Proven experience delivering ground-up construction and major renovations

Required Specialized Experience

  • Mega church construction experience, including large auditoriums, multi-building campuses, and phased construction
  • Experience working on active or occupied campuses with minimal disruption to operations
  • Strong expertise in underground utilities and site development, including complex grading, storm, sanitary, and water systems

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-touch, client-facing environment
  • Strong scheduling, sequencing, and logistical planning skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
