American Traveler is seeking an experienced IR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Bismarck, ND, with moderate sedation experience required and an active ND or compact RN license.
Details- Acute care hospital setting with a Level II Trauma designation
- Interventional Radiology (IR) department with 2 procedure labs averaging 5–10 cases per day
- Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, and emergent cases including stroke thrombectomy, embolizations, line/tube placements, visceral/para/thoracentesis procedures, biopsies, drain insertions, chest tubes, and CT/US-guided procedures
- Charting via Epic (experience required); procedural equipment includes Philips Xper (Hemo) and Siemens C-Arm
- Day shift schedule: 2x10-hour shifts (0600–1630) and 2x8-hour shifts (0700–1530) per week, or all 8-hour shifts
- On-call required 1–2 days per weeknight, every third weekend, and every other holiday
- 30-minute on-call response time required
- Floating to radiology pre/post areas required
- Team scheduling posted 17 days in advance for 6-week blocks
- Active ND or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required — pending certifications not accepted
- Moderate sedation experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with IR procedural equipment (e.g., Philips Xper, Siemens C-Arm) preferred
- Radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- BSN not required
- RN responsibilities include managing conscious/moderate sedation with autonomy, charting, circulating, and providing pre- and post-procedure care
- Interventionalist MD is in-house 24/7; IR physician is always available with on-call coverage after hours
- A team lead is present and working in the lab on each shift
- IR Techs are available on the unit
- Orientation consists of one week of classroom and lab training
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- RTO requests of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract must be submitted upfront; no additional RTO will be approved
- Bring your own lock for locker use; hospital-designated shoes required
