Hardware Sales Associate Job Description

The Hardware Sales Associate sells hardware, including, but not limited to, nails, bolts, screws, hand and power tools, electrical equipment, plumbing supplies, paint, and pipe products such as ABS, PVC, ADS pipes and fittings. Attention to detail and quality customer service skills are essential to the performance of this job. The key to being successful in this role is the ability to effectively communicate with customers, have a team oriented mentality and collaborate well with others. The applicant should expect to be on their feet for most of the day, and while this job requires mostly indoor work, it can be physically demanding. Applicants should be capable of lifting packages in the 25 - 75 pound range and be able to bend down to reach products on the lower shelves, as well as reach up to products on the higher shelves.
Provide exemplary customer service. You will be interacting with customers on a daily basis, so the interaction must always be professional, courteous and friendly
Prepare sales order documents
Retrieve merchandise from back stock room
Advise customers of products and/or tools that fit their needs for specific projects
Stock and maintain items on shelves
Be able to think quickly and come up with creative solutions for customer concerns or questions
Exemplary communication skills.
Working knowledge of various hardware and building products
Must be knowledgeable on Baldwin, Emtek, and Specialty Hardware
Effective communication skills
2 years of Customer service
Bi-lingual is not necessary, but is a plus
Be able to lift 25-75 lbs
