This is a hands-on position assisting the Plant Manager in the management and support of Engineering, Security, and other departments as assigned. Leads the daily operations in providing a safe and efficiently operated facility. Assists with issues of compliance concerning AHCA, The Joint Commission, NFPA and all other applicable facility codes and standards. Maintains regulatory compliance documentation and ensures regulatory readiness at all times. Participates in the Environment of Care (EOC) functions including specific functions of the Joint Commission Utility, Safety and Security programs. Assists in the planning of renovation and construction projects necessary in maintaining the physical interior and exterior structure. Well familiar with Life Safety and construction/renovation protocols. Participates and serves on the water management team. Manages water chemical testing protocols to ensure compliance of domestic and non-domestic water chemical balances. Maintains energy saving initiatives to ensure high Energy Star scores. Assists staff, providing daily hands on maintenance including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring, nurse call, and other maintenance tasks required to maintain the hospital. Maintains the Siemens automated energy management system and pneumatic tube system. Responds to emergencies 24/7 to make necessary repairs as requested.
Must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and the time keeping system, Kronos. Must be proficient with computers and able to produce/design reports. Excellent verbal and written communication required. This position requires a balance between full hands on maintenance and technical trade abilities to the overall, high-level management of the department. CHFM certification is highly desired.
