General Summary The Cashier/Sales Associate is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise with a positive attitude, helpfulness, and smile. They will also assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. Most importantly they will provide helpfulness to our customers by executing the Ace SALES process. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Accuracy, efficiency, and helpfulness. Customer Service • Project a positive representation of Ace. • Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store. • Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. • Proactively assist customers in solving problems. • Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. • Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively. • Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management. • Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products. • Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time. • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently. • Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively. • Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance. • Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location. • Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise. Register Operations • Follow all cash register transaction procedures. • Responsible for balancing of register drawer. • Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers. • Participate in store meetings. Store Operations • Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment. • Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store. • Assist with maintaining back stock levels. • Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area. • Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise. • Assist with merchandise resets through the store. • Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders. • Ensure signage is current throughout the store. • Operate forklift with proper training. • Communicate any Store Support Center issue to General Manager for follow up. • Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to General Manager. • Participate in store meetings. • Be professional in appearance and actions. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Front End Appearance and Upkeep • Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end. • Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change. • Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times. • Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times. • Assist with decorating the front end according to the Store Support Center program. • Call for cart pickups when necessary. • Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Education/Training: Familiarity with Word and Excel. Working knowledge of the products we stock. High School or GED equivalent. Experience: Cashier experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.
Starting pay is $9.50+ depending on experience.
