CubeSmart is seeking an Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team at its Malvern, PA headquaters. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and configuration of our datacenter and cloud environments including networking, servers, storage, and related technologies throughout all phases of their lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Server Administration
  • Administers Windows and Linux servers in both cloud and premise-based environments
  • Solid experience with Active Directory, Powershell scripting, and disk encryption tools
  • Installs new hardware and software following established procedures and software licensing agreements
  • Implements and troubleshoots firewall rules and policies in both cloud and premise-based environments
  • Manages server lifecycle, including design, implementation, service life, and retirement
  • Administers production and development server environments
  • Maintains availability and reliability of servers to meet business demands
  • Manages projects involving server application and hardware upgrades
  • Provides technical support for servers and server-based application software
  • Participates in product evaluation and improvements as they relate to the IT environment
  • Maintains server hardware warranties and support agreements
  • Documents and maintains the organization of the data center environment
  • Performs file system configuration and management
  • Verifies and maintains users, groups, and machines within Active Directory and performs user account audits
  • Monthly reports showing server health and performance
  • Works with Application Development teams to deploy and monitor servers
  • Performs server updates, hardware updates, and windows patches and creates server update reports for application owners
Network Administration
  • Analyzes and monitors network performance.
  • Provides network support and resolves connectivity issues.
  • Configures hardware and software to optimize network communication.
  • Deploys LAN and WAN networks.
  • Manages IP addresses and resolving conflicts.
  • Monitors and maintains network servers and performs upgrades.
  • Performs system administration tasks and ensures network security.
  • Documents processes and monitors network performance metrics.
  • Consults with internal departments and trains IT support staff.
Cloud Administration
  • Evaluate current cloud architecture and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Create and utilize monitoring to assess performance and cost optimization on current and future cloud presence.
  • Assist data owners with the creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cloud-related infrastructure.
  • Experience with O365 Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams (including Phone System), Email Spam Filtering
Other Duties
  • Addresses tickets assigned to the Infrastructure team
  • Manages backup and BC/DR solutions
  • Works with IT Security team to analyze and improve IT security posture
  • Monitors computer virus activity and assists in the deployment of virus protection software on the server environment
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Performs server and networked user backups and recovery procedures
  • Creates IP addressing and DNS entries
  • Serves as an escalation point for issues from the support desk
  • Participates in on-call rotation
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed
  • May require extended hours during peak periods and may require occasional travel to remote office locations
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications (including Programs/systems experience)
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent understanding of networking principles
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Cisco, Meraki, and/or Fortinet network hardware
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS server hardware
  • Experience managing virtual server environment in VMware
  • Experience managing storage in SAN environments
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification on Windows, VMware, Cisco Networking Products, Azure, Amazon Web Services, security, or other related technologies
  • Microsoft SCCM experience
  • Microsoft Intune experience
  • O365 and Azure and AWS
