    Job Description

    This posting serves to establish interested candidates for current open positions at the following locations: Covenant Levelland Hospital

    The status of the position and shift will vary depending on the location.

    There are 3 different shifts; day, evening and overnight. The work hours vary based on location; 8 hour, 10 hour, and 12 hour shifts.

    In this position you will:

    1. Verify patient demographics and activate patients in the system of record

    upon arrival on the date of service, if the patient has been pre-registered.

    2. Verify patient insurance by confirming and document insurance eligibility of

    patient coverage benefits, including coverage limits, number of days, patient

    responsibility, effective dates, and follow-up with patient and/or referring

    physician office in the event of failed eligibility. Referrals to Financial

    Counselor, when appropriate.

    3. Ensure required/applicable forms and documents are presented and

    Directives, Important Patient Information, etc.).

    4. Obtain all necessary patient signatures at time of arrival.

    5. Perform collections and cashiering functions when appropriate.

    To qualify for an Associate Patient Access Rep:

    Preferred Position Qualifications:

    1. 2 years registration experience preferred.

    2. Familiarity with basic financial clearance functions.

    3. Bilingual English/Spanish.

    4. Previous experience with Meditech system.

    To qualify for a Patient Access Rep:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A minimum of 3 years healthcare experience within Patient Access of Business office setting.

    • Previous experience with insurance eligibility systems.

    • Utilization of medical terminology in job setting.

    • Knowledge in medical billing codes

    Preferred Position Qualifications:

    1. High school diploma or GED preferred.

    2. 5 years registration experience preferred.

    3. Associates Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.

    To qualify for a Sr. Patient Access Rep:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5 year's healthcare experience within Patient Access or Business office setting.

    • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology in job setting.

    • Knowledge of medical billing codes

    • Knowledge in federal regulations including HIPAA, AB1025/1627, Fair Debt Collections Practices and Medicare guidelines

    • Knowledge in applicable rules/regulations/guidelines governing Managed Care and Government sponsored coverage and reimbursement

    Preferred Position Qualifications:

    1. Associates Degree Preferred

    2. Bilingual English/Spanish.

    3. Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration or Certification as a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), or related certification preferred.
