    Job Description

    Citi Treasury safeguards the balance sheet, capital, and liquidity of Citigroup while providing oversight of liquidity, interest rate and currency translation risks. ICG Banking Treasury leads asset/liability management, balance sheet planning, and liquidity/capital optimization for Treasury and Trade Services, Securities and Issuer Services deposit taking activities, Private Banking, the Corporate Lending Portfolio. This team serves as the principal point of contact into Treasury for business and finance teams, ensuring that balance sheet priorities are integrated into business decision-making processes. Additionally, this function works with the business Finance teams to implement balance sheet allocation, optimization and costing processes.

    Scope of Responsibilities

    The Lead Business Analyst will require a broad understanding of institutional client banking activities and the impact of those activities upon Citi's balance sheet. Particular emphasis will be placed upon management of the institutional deposit and lending base generated by covered businesses

    Demonstrated analytical capabilities must highlight the candidate's ability to diagnose issues and identify opportunities within a dynamic environment. The Analyst will work with Product and Finance colleagues to shape institutional deposit/loan business development to maximize Citi RoTCE/RWA, structural liquidity value and revenue within overall balance sheet capacity constraints. Objectives also include optimization of limited balance sheet capacity by currency, booking site and tenor. The Analyst will identify capital/liquidity impacts of regulatory changes upon businesses and then assist with the integration of those impacts into business line strategies and client offerings.

    Primary responsibilities include:
    • Establish, monitor and adapt key balance sheet, net interest margin and liquidity targets in conjunction with business and Finance partners
    • Identify and analyze business line interest rate exposure including implications for institutional deposit transfer pricing and associated hedge strategies
    • Gauge institutional depositor sensitivity to a change in market interest rates and identify resulting impacts to business net interest spread/margin
    • Participate in activities related to CCAR, CLAR, Recovery and Resolution planning including associated modeling activities
    • Coordinate the ICG Banking Asset & Liability Committee with business and finance partners
    • Examine liquidity implications of new products as part of new product approval processes
    • Analyzing and optimizing balance sheet as well as liquidity & capital utilization relative to evolving regulatory requirements and internal objectives/constraints
    • Supporting balance sheet/net interest planning for covered businesses and their FP&A teams

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical and problem solving capacity within an unstructured and dynamic environment that allows for the identification of financial levers for business success.

    Qualifications are to include:
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Treasury, Finance or relevant Business role where the underlying business serves institutional clients
    • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or Math, MBA preferred
    • Developed skill base with respect to liquidity and interest rate management
    • Experience analyzing and/or pricing institutional, open maturity deposits
    • Familiarity with recent bank regulatory developments including LCR, NSFR and GSIB
    • Collaborative orientation along with desire to interact with colleagues at all levels
    • Leadership orientation
    • Demonstrated ability to concisely communicate analytical objectives, observations and relevance of findings across the organization in written, visual (graphical) and verbal form
    • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and preferably Bloomberg
