    Job Description



    The Prod Ctrl Analyst 2 is an intermediate level position responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.

    Responsibilities:
    • Monitor, assess, analyze, and evaluate processes and data
    • Identify process gaps and control issues
    • Escalate anomalies and issues in an efficient and timely manner
    • Interpret data, identify inconsistencies through research and recommend solutions based on analysis
    • Develop knowledge of how team interacts with others to accomplish Finance goals
    • Develop basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
    • Exchange complex information succinctly and with discretion
    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
    Qualifications:
    • 0-2 years of relevant experience
    • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
    The Global Spread Products business is a market maker for corporate loans, municipal and corporate debt and credit default swaps (CDS), mortgage backed securities (MBS) and structured products like tranches and CDOs. Other products covered by these desks for hedging risk may include treasuries, interest rate swaps, equities, and futures.

    The candidate will develop an expertise in a diverse set of financial products as well as an understanding of the risk attributes (greeks) used to measure exposure and in the management of these products. Candidate will be responsible for the accurate reporting of daily/monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet; and is expected to work closely with the Spread Trading Desks to understand market trend drivers.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Primary responsibility is the daily production and analysis of profit & loss, PAA, and balance sheet reports for the trading desk.
    • Assist in month end closing process including General Ledger entries, balance sheet substantiation, and P&L reporting.
    • Develop a strong understanding of the Spread Market product structures
    • Understand the end-to-end trade processing flow needed to work with Trading Desk, Middle Office, Operations, and Technology in resolving trade and operational problems that affect the PL and balance sheet.
    • Assist with control testing for the monthly Management Control Assessments (MCA) process
    • Identify and assist with testing of re-engineering opportunities to enhance processes and controls and achieve Best in Class practices.
    • Identification and analysis of key Balance Sheet / P&L variance drivers vs. prior periods
    Additional Qualifications:
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
    • A control focused mind-set with strong process improvement capabilities
    • Prior experience in Accounting/Finance field preferred (1-2 years)
    • Knowledge of Derivative and/or Bond products a plus
