    JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, this role is an Independent Licensed Provider responsible for diagnosing and treating patients independently and in collaboration with physician(s) and colleagues.# The position provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the healthcare team, the patient, and the patient#s family.# This role coordinates care to ensure quality, cost effective care, appropriate length of stay, patient safety and excellent customer service.# Weekday, weekend, shift work, holiday and on-call may be required. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Education # Training: Master of Science degree with completion of an approved acute care, adult primary care or family nurse practitioner program.# National certification in the area specialty and licensed by the Maryland Board of Nursing.# NPI number, DEA and CDS required.# BLS required.# ACLS required. Work Orientation # Experience: Previous APP experience is preferred. Registered nurse experience in an acute care setting highly preferred.# Skills # Abilities:# Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing and/or certification in area of specialty.
