    Job Description

    Works under the general supervision of the Director of Bariatric Surgery. This team member will conduct patient screening to include insurance verification, pre-certification, authorization, referral and billing processes. Conducts patient chart review in order to validate the pre-surgery process to include specialty consultations/procedures, assisting patients in the reconciliation of necessary documentation and, when appropriate, in scheduling specialty appointments. Works in collaboration and cooperation with the bariatric team, various departments and physician offices to ensure patient#s required consults and testing are acquired.# Creates and maintains necessary office medical records. Orders and maintains appropriate inventory of office and med-surgical supplies. Participates in receiving and scheduling patients during clinical hours. # Education # Training: High school diploma. Prefer Associates Degree or certification in health related fields, business, or office management. # Work Orientation # Experience: #One (1) year of experience in a medical office setting with computer skills; general knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, scheduling, billing and medical coding. #", "
