    Job Description

    The cook will prepare meals and follow Anew's recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to Anew's menu, and following food health codes and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff members, and prepare food in a fast-paced environment. Work may include operating a grill, oven, fryer, and sharp utensils. Previous experience in a team environment and various cooking methods preferred.

    Hours: Monday thru Friday starting at 4:30 am (average of 6 to 8 hours a day)

    Hourly Rate: $12.50


    Duties and Responsibilities

    •   Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations

    •    Preparing ingredients for shift; washing vegetables, chopping, dressings

    •    Preparing 3 sink for shift and during shift

    •    Taking orders from phone or other team members

    •    Cooking orders according to food health and safety standards

    •    Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes

    •    Handling multiple orders at one time

    •    Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive

    •    Ensuring each guest order has the correct food

    •    Delivering food order to guest in a timely manner

    •    Storing all food properly (first in first out)

    •    Sanitizing and cleaning work station and utensils

    •    Telling manager when close to reordering stock and food supplies

    •    Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed



    ·         Able to work in fast-paced environment

    •    Able to multi task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

    •     Physical endurance to stand for entire shift

    •    Self-motivated and self-directed

    •    Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks

    •    Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders

    •    Previous experience as dish washer, waiter, cook, chef, or relevant work experience

    •    Legally able to work in establishments which sell alcohol

    •    Able to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays

    •    Able to bend, move and lift 50 pounds or more

    •    Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift

    •     Must be able to read and write and must pass background check
