    Merus Grill (a J. Alexander's concept) IS OPENING November 18th

    We are currently interviewing for:
    • HOSTS
    • SERVERS
    • SERVER ASSISTANTS
    • BARTENDERS

    HOSTS:

    Hosts are responsible for welcoming guests and coordinating front desk systems to graciously and systematically seat parties in the dining room and bar. Coordination of front desk hospitality and guest seating requires strong communication and teamwork with other employees. The result of proficient performance is the delivery of a professional and positive first impression. This first impression will create the building blocks for a dining experience that meets and/or exceeds guests' expectations.

    SERVERS:

    Servers are responsible for coordinating the delivery of food and beverages tableside in a designated three table section in the dining room. Coordination of tableside service requires strong communication and teamwork with other employees. Performance is measured based on ability to replicate service standards and specifications, which are designed to meet and/or exceed the guest's expectations for a seamless dining experience. Responsibilities also include opening, closing, and running side-work, ensuring the restaurant operation runs smoothly.

    SERVER ASSISTANTS:

    Server Assistants are responsible for front-of-house and back-of-house support of restaurant operations. Some responsibilities may include (but not limited to): polishing and rolling silverware, transporting glassware and other items to the bar, deliver food and drinks to the guests in the dining room, transport clean dishware from the dish area to the food line and other areas, make/brew non-alcoholic drinks for front of house employees, assist with steps of service for hostis, servers, and bartenders. The result of proficient performance in the server assistant role is one that positively contributes to creating a dining experience that meets and/or exceeds guest expectations.

    BARTENDERS:

    Bartenders are responsible for welcoming guests choosing to dine and drink in the bar area, including the bar top, any tables, and rails. Also responsible for the set-up, maintenance (stocking & cleaning), and operation of the bar, including pouring beer, wine, and making liquor drinks. Coordination of bar service requires strong communication and teamwork with other employees. At times, the coordination of bar service also requires strong communication with back-of-the-house personnel. The result of proficient performance at the pub is a dining experience that meets and/or exceeds guest expectations.

    Training:

    If hired, you will have the opportunity to train alongside some of our veteran staff and learn in a hands-on environment. Training is completed over a two week period (November 4-17).

    You will be required to study training materials on basic company information, recipes, service standards, alcoholic beverages, and more. You will need to pass written tests with 90% efficiency. Each training day, you will be exposed to more of the role and responsibilities of your position. Throughout your training shifts, you will receive positive feedback and constructive criticism.
