The RCC Closing and Delivery Manager is responsible for managing the staff of the closing department and supervising the delivery department. They will oversee all loan closing functions, loan and MBS security delivery functions that are carried out in connection with the multifamily loans, and loans held on the portfolio. They are also responsible for the day-to-day management of the closing and delivery teams, which coordinate complex, multi-party loan and securities transactions, and must be carried out in strict conformance with investor requirements.
Oversee all M&TRCC Closing and Delivery staff; monitor and coordinate workloads for closers, provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities, assist with annual goal setting, perform regular performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.
Make recommendations for improving processes and procedures that will result in risk mitigation, time savings, cost reduction, or an improvement in customer service.
Draft and maintain procedures, aid with the collection of information for audits and other examinations, remediate any exam findings related to closing and delivery
Work with all internal groups (particularly underwriting and asset management) to ensure loans are closed with accuracy and efficiency.
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to senior management.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience in multifamily/commercial real estate industry.
Minimum of nine years of relevant experience in commercial loan closing and/or loan documentation, and strong background and experience with multifamily loan programs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac).
Minimum of 3 years management experience.
Manages a staff of five loan closers and the supervisor of the delivery team, which consists of five employees.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of commercial/multifamily and healthcare real estate finance (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA/GNMA) and real estate related due diligence and loan documentation, as well as the mechanics of real estate closings.
Strong technology aptitude; highly skilled in all Microsoft Office applications and Adobe DC, and proven ability to quickly learn and appropriately utilize other software applications.
Knowledge of FICS Commercial Servicer a plus.
Knowledge and experience using various investors' technology platforms (e.g., Fannie Mae's Committing & Delivery and DUS Gateway systems) also preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a highly developed ability to communicate complexinformation effectively to customers and external parties.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers and in partnership with investors and other areas of M&TRCC.
Proficiency in communicating and working with attorneys and paralegals on complex borrower- and property-related legal issues.
Firm grasp of the policies, products, and services of M&TRCC, the Bank, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to consistently meet tight closing and delivery deadlines in a fluid environment in which priorities change frequently.
Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions under pressure and in fluid situations. Business decisions must reflect a proper balance between sometimes competing needs/desires of M&TRCC's borrower-customers and the needs/requirements of M&TRCC's investor-partners.
Proven management and leadership skills.
