    Job Description

    The Materials and Structural Analysis Electron Microscopy business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase productivity, and ultimately change the world. We design, manufacture, and support the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.

    Remote sales position located in the Northwest Territory, looking to have someone ideally live in Northern California (territory includes Northern CA, AK, HI WA, OR, ID, NV, MT, WY, CO, UT and Western Canada (Albert and BC). Part of the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD)

    How will you make an impact?

    The Sales Specialist will be responsible for generating approximately $3.6M in sales annually. In addition this individual supports the Thermo Fisher Scientific Molecular Spectroscopy equipment in an assigned territory as well as providing efficient fiscal management of the sales expense budget.

    What will you do?
    • Manage high volume direct and distribution sales of UV-Vis Spectroscopy products in defined territory to meet or exceed sales goal.
    • Make individual or joint sales calls to develop and close capital business sales within the defined territory including trade shows and product demonstrations. Travel up to 50-60%
    • Analyze channel and customer specific needs, develop courses of action and execute these plans, revising them as necessary.
    Manage territory through actions listed above to drive business to meet or exceed the territory sales quota. Utilize SFDC CRM to track business metrics. Work with the factory to share market intelligence from the field.

    Bachelor's Degree Required in a Technical Life Science or Chemistry discipline (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemistry).

    Advanced degree in Technical Life Science or Chemistry Discipline or MBA, preferred.
