Business Account Specialist - External

Summary/Objective 
The Business Account Specialist coordinate and maintain the activities of generating Business-to-Business sales, while building and maintaining customer relationships.

Essential Functions
Sale and Account Development
•	Strengthen relationships with existing business customers and increase their purchasing.
•	Generate new sales leads from potential new customers 
•	Learn customer base by interviewing customers, visiting outside businesses, and understanding needs of the area 
•	Manage the process for customer quotes and orders 
•	Submit orders, Pick, pull, and pack, call and arrange for delivery 
•	Achieves sales and gross margin goals
•	Work with Business Account Director to manage a prospective new business list and follow up appropriately.
•	Work with Business Account Director to coordinates and host any B2B in-store events.
•	Participate in local community organizations, ie. Local chamber meetings and events
•	Support Customer Service within the store as needed
Training and Coaching
•	Provide training to team members on B2B product knowledge, sales, and customer service
•	Helps store Cashiers and Associates learn to recognize and make referrals of new business customers, handle special orders knowledgably and accurately, and deliver relevant service to business customers
Inventory
•	Work with Business Account Director to maintain necessary inventory and make adjustments to meet expectations of local business customers

Qualifications
•	Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred. Possess basic product knowledge of hardware / commercial / consumable products along with a willingness to learn.
•	Experience: Outside sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and new accounts, and other promotional activities. 
•	Experience in a retail environment either in marketing, sales. 
•	Skills/Knowledge: Excellent communication skills, strong organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Takes initiative to meet new customers
•	Ability to analyze options an make sound decisions with minimal supervision 
•	Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.

Accountability
Reports to Manager and Business Account Director

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not manage but will train others.

Work Environment
This job operates in a hardware retail environment. This role may require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, lift, walk.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 35-40 hours week, typically Monday – Friday.  Some nights and weekends may be needed to accommodate special events or community meeting involvement.

Travel
Local in town travel is expected for this position.

Required Training and Experience
Three or more years Sales Associate Experience desired
