    Function/Duties of Position

    The purpose of this position is to assist in database maintenance, implementation and analysis of a study investigating electronic health record solutions for accurate reporting of data on inter-professional ICU rounds. Includes responsibility for project deliverables, data collection and coordination of simulations. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with research projects, studies and/or designs. Responsibilities include:
    • Maintain the research database for a study evaluating how clinicians interact with electronic health record systems
    • Assist with day-to-day duties of the project including deliverables, coordination of meetings and simulations and site logistics
    • Collect and process study data, assist with analysis and scholarly publications
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Some flexibility for evenings and weekends depending on study requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree (4 year) with major courses in field of research OR Associate's degree (2 year) and 3 years of relevant experience
    • Sufficient computer knowledge including proficiency with database management and programming languages, software such as SQL, MATLAB, C/C++, Linux, and Python
    • Knowledge of designing databases for research projects, using tools to maintain and extract data for research purposes and provide written and computer-generated reports on data for a wide variety of audiences
    • Knowledge of capturing, storing, querying and making sense of quantitative data
    • Effectiveness in organizing tasks and setting priorities, working efficiently and flexibly with minimum oversight, interacting constructively with faculty and staff, and the ability to be adaptable, creative, and a quick learner
    • Critical thinking and ability to problem solve independently
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree in medical informatics, computer science, electrical engineering or related technical discipline
    • One to three years of experience designing databases for research projects
    • Experience in the field as a database administrator, with experience in database management, recovery, backups and system tuning, as well as operating system administration
    • Strong background in mathematics or statistics
    • EPIC systems knowledge
