    Job Description

    Function/Duties of Position

    The APP will provide outpatient medical management to patients with general gastroenterology needs. Care provided would occur in an outpatient clinical environment and also as part of team/service to include the APP, attending physician, fellow and residents. Daily duties include providing excellent patient care and consultative service to address needs of the patient and requesting team, identifying and communicating findings with all referring physicians involved in the care of any given patient and at the direction of the Medical Director of the Digestive Health Center. The APP will facilitate and coordinate all services and referrals needed for effective management of patient needs, including patient education, diagnostic procedures and subspecialty evaluation. The clinic conducts patient care Monday through Friday.

    Fast paced clinic is in CHH2 on the 8th floor. Providers have working space but office or shared office space is on the hill. Work hours vary but roughly 7:30 to 5:30 with 7 to 8 clinics a week.

    Required Qualifications
    • ANCC Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specific are of specialization
    • Completion of a Master Degree in Nursing
    • Current registration with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners as a licensed Nurse Practitioner
    • Current ACLS certification
    Preferred Qualifications

    Candidates with prior GI experience, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are encouraged to apply. Those without prior GI experience but are enthusiastic and diligent learners will be provided thorough training on GI pathology and management.
