    The Senior Payroll Manager provides direction and strategic leadership to our payroll team supporting an exciting collection of hotel properties across North America. This leader oversees the activities of a dynamic group of team members and is the department liaison with our hotel leaders and team members. Maintaining strong internal controls while driving high levels of team member engagement and satisfaction of all stakeholders is of paramount importance. This Senior Manager is a results-driven professional who influences the activities of the payroll team to deliver our brand promise of extraordinary customer service to our hotels and to our team members. The Senior Payroll Manager reports to the Director of Payroll Services.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities
    • Coordinates the responsibilities of the payroll service team workload
    • Schedules the payroll team to accommodate operating hours of all of Loews Hotels & Co. properties
    • Ensures Team Members have the proper training and support to effectively complete assigned duties that adhere to the Policies, Standards and Met Forms
    • Ensures compliance with the established internal controls and compliance procedures
    • Reports on payroll data to stakeholders and management both on-demand and scheduled
    • Reviews the pay groups processing and ensures accuracy and completeness of the payroll calculations
    • Ensures all garnishments and levies are processed and completed by the payroll team
    • Reviews employee and employer withholding taxes against quarterly and annual filings and submits corrections timely within the published date for corrections
    • Coordinates year end processing schedule to ensure deadlines compliance and accuracy in reporting
    • Identifies areas of improvements and collaborate with the Director of Payroll Services for process change and implementation
    • Provides ongoing Team Member performance feedback and leads evaluation processes
    • Promotes exceptional customer service delivery and serves as the first point of escalation
    • Any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Payroll Services
    • Regular attendance in conformance with standards
    • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the BSC
    • Required to attend all training sessions and meetings

    • Proficiency in windows-based computer programs to include e-mail, internet and word processing applications
    • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new computer applications
    • General knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles
    • Experience in Workday, SAP, Peoplesoft or similar payroll systems
    • Experience in Unifocus Time and Attendance or other time and attendance systems
    • Knowledge of non-qualified plans (deferred compensation)
    • Knowledge of multi-state payroll, multi jurisdiction tax and implications
    • Knowledge of 401(k) processing and funding as it relates to payroll processing
    • Knowledge of wage withholding orders and garnishments
    • Working payroll knowledge of Section 125 (cafeteria plans) and deferred compensation plans
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll filing requirements for quarterly and annual returns
    • Understanding of amendment process for quarterly and annual filings
    • Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex payroll issues and calculations
    • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Accounting
    • Minimum five to seven years payroll experience, with a focus on managing teams and ability to train team members in Payroll Fundamentals.
    Licenses or Certificates:
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
