    Job Overview

    Responsible for performing a variety of billing and provide support functions to minimize billing exceptions, enhance collection and perform processes to ensure pre-visit financial and visit readiness. Performs reconciliation procedures for billing accuracy. Specializes in physician-based settings and/or hospital based settings such as physician offices, group practices, multi-specialty clinics, HOPD (Hospital Outpatient), surgical centers and specialty centers. Works in a timely and courteous manner when responding to patients, physicians or insurance company inquiries. Serves as a resource person for ALL department staff on questions regarding billing, exceptions, scheduling, pre- authorizations, reporting and claims issues.


    Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and up to one year of basic technical training in health care billing/customer service and three to six months of previous experience plus three months or less of on the job training and orientation; 2 years experience preferred. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Compliance Specialist) preferred.
