The Senior Electrical Project Engineer is primarily responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of capital projects safely to meet budget, schedule and technical objectives at the mill. The Senior Project Engineer will also provide technical assistance to Manufacturing and Maintenance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Leads cross functional teams in the development and implementation of a portfolio of capital projects within a process area of the mill (<$20MM) including:
All aspects of conceptual & preliminary design and core team selection and scope development.
All aspects of equipment and system selection, procurement, installation, checkout and commissioning.
Develops allocation/appropriation requests, creates and tracks budgets and schedules
Develops management of change plan
Participates in post-startup tracking & evaluation of results and returns.
Selects, leads, and manages multiple consulting and contract resources.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Manages projects during process area boiler annual outages.
Provides technical support to Maintenance Planners & Foreman & to other Engineers.
Participates in maintenance on-call support rotation.
Develops and lead large major maintenance inspection and repair jobs.
Leads & contributes actively to core teams & various SGA's.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
5-8 years' work experience in project management required.
Experience in paper industry a plus
Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (e.g. Honeywell, Allen-Bradley), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) and Power Distribution Systems
Professional Engineering License a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate with others in a professional, concise manner and write reports and business correspondences.
Mental and Physical Requirements
Position requires regular walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, climbing, crouching and keyboarding.
Position setting is in a mill manufacturing environment; common exposure to noise, hazards, oils and varying inside environment temperatures.
5% domestic travel required; less than 4 weeks a year to attend meetings or inspect equipment at other mill locations.
