Harborview Medical Center in beautiful Seattle, WA invites you to pursue an outstanding Operating Room nursing career.
Our Peri-Op 101 residency program provides an excellent opportunity for an operating room nurse career in our Level 1 trauma center. Harborview's 26 OR suites give operating room nurses the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of high acuity and emergent OR cases. This opportunity will be facilitated by Harborview's O.R. education staff of highly experienced nurses.
Harborview is a level one trauma center and regional burn center for a four state region; a teaching & research hospital for the University of Washington; and a public/safety-net hospital for our diverse community.
Positions would be full time with variable shifts.
OR positions include an expectation of taking up to 8 standby shifts per year.
The next start date plan for this program will be Sept. 2021.
**Please note - if hired for a Harborview O.R. position via the Peri-Op 101 residency program, there would be a minimum 3 year commitment expectation to the position. The training program is extensive; ideal candidates are seeking this for a long-term OR nursing career opportunity.
Requires WA State RN license.
(ok to apply for employment in advance of obtaining RN licensure; RN licensure would be required in order to begin employment in the position).
New grad RNs seeking OR nursing careers are welcomed to apply. Recommended application timeframe would be approx. 1-2 months prior to anticipated graduation date.
If a new grad RN (i.e. with no RN work experience or with less that one year of RN work experience), then must have BSN degree already obtained in order to join for RN employment.
There is some limited availability for ADN-prepared nurses with less than one year since graduation, if currently a Harborview employee in a role such as Hospital Assistant or Nursing Technician.
Washington State RN licensure will be required in order to begin employment.
RNs with experience in other settings, seeking to transition to OR nursing careers, are welcomed to apply. If you have one year or more of RN work experience in any setting, while the BSN degree is preferred, it is not required. (RNs with one year or more of RN work experience with ADN degrees are eligible to apply).
