    UWMC Respiratory Care Services (Outpatient Pulmonary Clinics) has an outstanding opportunity for a part time temporary/hourly variable shift RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER.

    This position is for Outpatient Pulmonary Function Testing only.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Proficient in all clinical aspects of patient care (i.e Spirometry, Plethysmography, arterial blood gas punctures, oxygen support).

    Proficient in all technical aspects of diagnostic equipment and procedures.

    Follows department policies and procedures.

    Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and set up pulmonary function equipment.

    Educates patients, families, and other staff members on pulmonary diagnostic procedures and equipment.

    Demonstrates effective communication with nurses, physicians, and all members of the interdisciplinary team.

    Develops a professional working relationship and promotes teamwork among all members of the interdisciplinary team.

    Documents and bills for services rendered in accordance to department and organizational billing standards.

    Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and is able to function effectively in stressful situations.

    Demonstrates proficiency in technology that promotes communication and facilitates delivery of care (ORCA, CIS, EPIC, Breeze, email).

    Fulfills the preceptor role.

    Fulfills the charge therapist role.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Completion of a Respiratory Care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health OR equivalent education/experience.

    Legal Requirement: Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Washington.
