The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an individual to help expand our Solid Tumor / Palliative Care Research Program. The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology will have clinical expertise and research experience in palliative care and solid tumor oncology.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with very strong clinical programs in both hematology and oncology, as well as palliative care and outcomes research. The Hematology/Oncology and Palliative Care Program has been highly successful program for decades, with an exceptional track record in clinical care as well as outcomes clinical research. This program is supported by a team of professionals, including experts in palliative care and hematology/oncology.
Board eligibility or certification in Hematology/Oncology and Palliative Care is required. Rank and amount of protected time will be determined at a level commensurate with the applicant's experience and research program. Clinical duties include inpatient and outpatient care, participation in weekly and weekend on-call rotation, and the teaching of fellows, residents and medical students.
MD/DO Board certified or board eligible in medical oncology and Palliative Care
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology will have clinical expertise and research experience. Qualified candidates will possess broad medical knowledge and demonstrate excellence in medical practice. Essential skills for this position include effective interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, and excellent clinical communication skills relevant to serious illness care.
