The Division of Hematology and UNC Blood Research Center at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for a physician scientist, clinical researcher, or population scientist for our Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program. The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Hematology will be a physician scientist, clinical researcher, or population scientist with a track record of research productivity as measured by peer-reviewed manuscripts and the receipt of research funding.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with very strong clinical programs in sickle cell disease management for adults and children, medicine-pediatric training in hematology, and bleeding and thrombotic disorders. Additionally, there are a significant number of outstanding basic and translational researchers in the UNC Blood Research Center for collaboration. The UNC hematology group has been highly successful program with an exceptional track record in clinical care, basic, translational and outcomes research. The sickle cell disease program is supported by a team of advanced practice professionals, social work, and clinical pharmacy. The clinical faculty comprises physicians and nurse practitioners with expertise in the comprehensive management of patients with sickle cell disease and in clinical research.
MD / DO board eligible or board certified in adult Hematology.
Qualifications and Experience
Individuals with experience in clinical, translational, and /or laboratory or population science-based research are encouraged to apply.
Board eligibility or certification in adult Hematology is required. Rank and amount of clinical protected time will be determined at a level commensurate with the applicant's experience and funded support for their research program.
