Assists mechanical engineers and performs a variety of duties in the mechanical assembly, test and integration of solid rocket motor assemblies and target launch vehicles in support of the IRBM/ICBM Targets program for the Missile Defense Agency. Assembles and tests complex systems related to space flight hardware. Analyzes and follows detailed mechanical assembly drawings for fabrication. Assists engineers with the development of work instructions and assembly procedures. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications. Identifies, recommends and advocates for continuous improvement initiatives.
