    Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

    Essential Functions:
    • Design, development, test, integration, and deployment of software services
    • Deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the systems and software infrastructure
    • Environment automation and management along with continuous improvements
    • Design and implementation of application builds, releases, deployment, and configuration activities
    • Work with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and architecting complex solutions supporting the building and test plan execution
    • Perform quality reviews and fix operational issues
    • Assist in troubleshooting of implemented software changes
    • Participate in the full lifecycle of software development to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance

    Qualifications :

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in software engineering OR
    • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience in software engineering OR
    • PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 0 years of experience in software engineering
    • RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) or Microsoft Windows development experience
    • Experience developing software/writing code in Java or C++
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret/Top Secret clearance with a minimum of an interim Secret to be considered
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Accredited degree in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering
    • Experience with configuration management using industry standard tools and processes
    • Eclipse or other integrated development environment (IDE)
    • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite
    • Experience with Open Mission Systems (OMS)
    • Knowledge of Linux systems with basic commands
    • Experience with Agile software development
    • Experience with DOORS (requirements tool)
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
