    Job Description

At Northrop Grumman we develop cutting-edge technology that preserves freedom and advances human discovery. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We continue to innovate with developments from launching the first commercial flight to space, to discovering the early beginnings of the universe. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Across our career areas and around the globe, we see the value of our performance every day. We are Northrop Grumman, and defining the next generation is at the heart of what we do.

The test engineering group in the Electronics Assembly and Test Department is looking for a test engineer who will work with senior-level test engineers working with a cross-disciplinary team (including technicians, design engineers, system engineers, quality engineers), writing test procedures, and supporting board, slice and unit electronic testing of digital, RF, Fiber-optic, and power converter products in a fast paced manufacturing environment. This position is based in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Test Engineers are responsible for working with the design team to maximize product testability, providing test flows and reviewing work plans, and for reviewing test equipment and test set requirements to ensure compatibility with available facilities and to identify additional facilities that may be required. Test engineers are also expected to identify general support type test equipment that will be needed during production testing, to determine if there is a need for test fixtures, and to review test fixture design for testability and maintainability. Test engineers write, review and approve all test procedures and interface with the ground support department during test set design and sell-off.

As an entry-level test engineer, applicants will be expected to learn test engineering processes, and responsibilities as they pertain to other disciplines (design engineering, manufacturing engineering, etc.). Work assignments will be under the direction of a senior-level test engineer.
