Description:Supervise a group of skilled trade mechanics, contractors and other facilities represented hourly employees. The candidate will be responsible for work assignments, material acquisition and other activities related to the maintenance of the facility. The employee will manage projects performed by contractors as required. The successful candidate must be available to direct and/or respond to facilities emergencies as required during off shifts.
Must have at least five years of Facility Maintenance Supervision or Management experience. Must have a strong trouble shooting ability for electrical, mechanical and plumbing services. An ability to read mechanical, electrical and other building blueprints. Should have a working knowledge of HVAC building management systems (BMS). Must be able to work in a highly competitive team environment. Basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office are required.
The successful candidate should have supervisory experience preferably within a facility maintenance environment. Candidate should have basic understanding of government programs related to installation, disassy and test support with regard to facility personnel. Ideal candidate will possess a high energy level, strong people and communication skills, be a proactive self-starter, and the ability to direct and utilize represented trades in a safe and efficient work environment. Must have strong people skills and ability to interface with government customer on a daily basis.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) secret security clearance. Obtaining a DoD Security Clearance requires US Citizenship.
A New Jersey Contractor license in a skilled trade, such as Electrical, HVAC or Plumbing disciplines. A basic understanding of BOCA standards and how they apply to the work place.
