Description:The Network Security Work Center IA Security function provides activities to receive, track, and respond to Information Assurance vulnerabilities to include those reported on Notice To Airmen (NOTAMS), Time Compliance Network Order (TCNO), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA), Mission Tasking Order (MTO), Cyber Control Order (CCOs), N-NC TASKORDS, and CYBERCOM TAKORDS.
This Information Assurance position will perform all tasks assigned to this role. In addition, he/she will assist with work activities of the NCC IA Security Administrators.
Working knowledge of anti-virus software functionally and capabilities.
Working knowledge of DoD CND tools, e.g. VMS, ACAS, CMRS, SCCM, QTIP, and HBSS. Working knowledge of DoD network security requirements such as SRG and STIGs.
Ability to work non-standard shifts is a requirement.
May be asked to support other areas/work centers on NISSC II contract.
Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant will be trained and must pass initial and recurring evaluations to maintain employment.
TS/SCI clearance required.
The Information Assurance (IA) Engineer will support all network security matters relating to the AFSPC NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and NEN networks in operations at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station.
Responsibilities also include supporting IA tasking for all 21st CS systems and projects and may include the following:
Perform daily vulnerability assessment, threat assessment, mitigation and reporting activities in order to provide Computer Network Defense (CND) safeguards of information assets. Monitor virus/malware protection within client infrastructure and any pending virus/malware threats outside the environment.
Work as part of a collaborative team to strengthen links between knowledge sharing and systems to improve integration of current applications within the DoD clients. Monitor Audit logs of all assets for misuse/security issues and take appropriate actions to correct/mitigate identified security issues. Evaluate network asset compliance against DoD security guidelines/requirement and provide guidance to meet the required configuration.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience with MILSATCOM and Cryptographic equipment preferred.
Must meet DoD 8570 certification eligibility requirements.
Experience with supporting Command and Control environment is desired. Must be willing to work in a mixed (Government and contractor) crew environment and adhere to a mission critical schedule.
