Description:As a member of the Offutt Air Force Base (OAFB) Mission Assurance Center (OMAC) provides system administration of ITW/AA systems in support of the Missile Warning mission. Troubleshoots, restores, and documents ITW/AA enterprise problems. Plans, documents, coordinates and performs day-to-day system administration and support tasks, and makes on-line and off-line changes in support of operations, test or exercises. Performs help desk functions, interfacing with ITW/AA system users, maintainers, and other support staff. Diagnoses and troubleshoots system problems using the SysOps monitoring and control tool, and other supporting tools, to include HP Operations Manager and Symantec Management Console or Altiris.
Must be willing to work in a mixed (Government and contractor) crew environment and adhere to a mission-essential schedule. Must be willing and able to work a set shift schedule to support 24x7 work center. Shift work required. Secret clearance required, Top Secret preferred.
Ability to perform Windows and UNIX system administration.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN network architecture, services, and functionality.
Candidate must meet minimum certification requirement for DoD Directive 8570, "Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management". This position requires a minimum certification associated with IAM Level I, which may be met with Security+ or higher. Candidate must possess a qualifying 8570 certification within 3 months of hire date. Initial certification expenses will not be covered by the program.
Must be able to work in a high visibility environment, focused on 24X7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests. Familiarity with military customs and courtesies desired. Must be able to work in a DoD mission-oriented environment centered on mission availability and quick response to customer requirements.
Windows multi-level Active Directory administration
- VMware vSphere Virtual Center Server to manage virtualized servers/client
- HP Blade Architecture and Enclosure administration
- Altiris and/or Symantec Management Console for server/client software deployment
- HP Operations Manager for system monitoring/management
- BEA Weblogic and Oracle database administration
- Cloning and Reimaging Windows and Solaris servers
- NetApp or other SAN storage systems
- Experience with any of the following platforms/applications is desired: Weblogic, Oracle database administration, LINUX, Solaris, ESXi VMWare, Cisco and Juniper switch platforms, command line proficiency, NetApp, and VSphere Virtual Center Server.
