Description:Participate in development and integration of Control and Management software system for submarine communications. Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, unit testing, and integrating Java based software. In addition, the candidate will provide real-time support to government counterparts and customers in regards to integration, testing, and troubleshooting deployed systems. The candidate should have a strong analytical background, well developed problem-solving skills, the ability to work in teams, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
The candidate should have experience in Object Oriented Design in Java. The candidate should be able to interpret design specifications, create low-level software design, and translate design into working code. The candidate should have good analytical and troubleshooting skills to be able to analyze and provide resolution for issues relating to all aspects of the software. Experience with developing software for both Solaris and Linux environments is desired. Familiarity with Agile methodologies as well as the Waterfall based software development practices is desired.
- Experience developing Object Oriented software with Java
- Software integration skills
- Experience with troubleshooting/supporting systems deployed on Solaris and/or Linux systems
- Technical writing skills
- Must have the ability to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance. This requires US citizenship.
- Experience with Eclipse, Mercurial, and JIRA
- Experience with VMWare
- Experience with JMS and Hibernate
- Experience with Relational Databases. Oracle, HSQL or PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
