    Job Description

    A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is a qualified professional who directs, supervises, evaluates and provides speech, language and hearing therapy services to patient, as prescribed by the attending physician. The SLP supervises the Speech Language Therapy Assistant in clinical treatment.

    Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications

    Licensure: Current Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist issued by the Health Professions Bureau of Indiana.

    Education: Requires completion of a Master's degree program of study in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited school or equivalent. Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence granted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.

    Work Schedule: Flexibility is required. Weekends and Holidays required for benefited associates

    Occupational Requirements: Required to have reliable transportation and valid drivers license. Required to carry own Automobile Liability Insurance. Assures protection and privacy of health information as attained through written, verbal or electronic disclosure. Respects the confidentiality of information learned through employment with the hospital. Performs job requirements in compliance with the policies and procedures of the department and the hospital. Communicates effectively with individuals of age, ethnic, and disability categories. Develops professionally through attending required in-services, maintains appropriate licensure, certification and registration. CPR completion within 30 days of hire and remain current throughout employment at St Joseph. Assures protection and privacy of the health information record as attained through written, verbal or electronic disclosure.
