    Job Description:

    As a Quality Assurance Engineer III,You will leverage your experience and knowledge to successfully support engineering and manufacturing teams during prototype and development efforts, and sustain that success through production support. Apply mechanical engineering principles to components, subsystems and systems, including assembly, analysis, testing and documentation of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components. Your level of success is only predetermined by your level of effort.

    This position supports the Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, which specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

    Essential Functions:
    • Document and communicate product and process non-conformances and coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement and Configuration Management to resolve technical/quality issues.
    • Develop and maintain Quality documentation such as; receiving inspection plans, inspection checklists procedures, work instructions, forms, etc.
    • Promote the interchange of information, improvement plans, and corrective and preventive actions. Disseminate relevant information to affected functions and personnel. Offer short and long term solutions to resolve product quality and system problems
    • Lead nonconforming material issue resolution and product acceptance
    • Drive internal and supplier corrective action processes
    • Provide feedback to product design team to improve design, assembly, maintainability and testability through all phases of the design and development lifecycle.
    • Coordinate drawing changes with design engineer and initiate changes to shop routings and inspection documentation in conjunction with the Manufacturing Department.
    • Develop and maintain Quality documentation such as; receiving inspection plans, inspection checklists procedures, work instructions, forms, etc.
    • Promote the interchange of information, improvement plans, and corrective and preventive actions. Disseminate relevant information to affected functions and personnel. Offer short and long term solutions to resolve product quality and system problems.
    • Other duties as required
    Qualifications:
    • U.S. citizen
    • Able to obtain and maintain DoD clearance and additional clearances as required
    • Bachelor's degree in STEM
    • 5+ years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
    • Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 with extensive working knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Perform precision measurement inspections utilizing common measurement tools.
    • Understanding of root cause corrective action and continuous improvement principles.
    • Written communication skills including a successful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal computing skills
    • Possess basic knowledge of metrics and statistical control methodologies
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
    Preferred Additional Skills:
    • Existing DoD Clearance
    • Aviation mechanical background
    • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)programming/operation experience
    • Working knowledge of ISO and AS quality standards and procedures.
    • Experience using 3D CAD software
    • Experience with portable Romer/Faromeasuring arm/scanner
    • Working knowledge of ISO and AS qualitystandards and procedures.
    • Self-starter who works well in a teamenvironment.
    • Written communication skills including asuccessful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal computing skills
    • Prior experience with Costpoint ERP orother ERP systems.
