    Job Description

    Jacobs is looking for an environmental compliance specialist to support stormwater and environmental permitting and compliance projects in Northern California. Our Environmental Compliance Specialist career path provides you the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance and management solutions for our clients. Each day, as part of our environmental compliance team you will be the face of Jacobs Engineering, Inc. as you support multi-discipline client teams. We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a high level of integrity, sound judgement and decision-making skills, and demonstrated experience in environmental compliance and project delivery, particularly with the California Construction Stormwater Program.

    As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will:

    • Support the delivery of environmental and stormwater compliance projects. Responsibilities may include: developing and implementing SWPPPs and/or site stabilization plans; conducting site inspections, stormwater sampling, desktop evaluations, and/or on-site training; preparing related documentation and reporting.

    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and personal interaction skills and possess the ability to deliver high quality compliance advice, project outcomes, and deliverables to clients, regulatory agencies, and internal team members.

    • Provide attention to detail when making technical evaluations and writing or reviewing reports.

    • Possess strong business acumen that is applied in project execution and client interactions.

    • Apply and further develop your stormwater compliance technical expertise, staying current on regulatory requirements and how these may affect projects and clients.

    • Develop client and internal relationships to support the career development and overall growth and success of Jacobs Engineering, Inc.

    Qualifications :

    •Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or other related field from a U.S. accredited college or university.
    •Minimum of 3 years of relevant environmental compliance experience

    •Valid California Driver's License

    Preferred qualifications

    •Registered Professional Engingeer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) in the State of California

    •Additional relevant certification such as Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspectors (CESSWI), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ) and/or Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP)

    •Experience with the California Stormwater Multiple Application and Report Tracking System (SMARTS)

    •Current QSP / QSD Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)

    •Familiarity with the California Stormwater Construction General Permit and California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) Construction Handbook
