    We are seeking a GIS Analyst to join our Chicago team. The position works directly with the Chicago Department of Water Management (DWM) and has the primary responsibilities of identifying and implementing new technology, interfacing directly with DWM personnel on GIS matters, and working collaboratively with the GIS team to support DWM initiatives. The position is deadline driven and requires a high degree of organization to manage client interfacing, cross-discipline coordination, and product delivery and support.

    Responsibilities of the GIS Analyst position include the following:

    •Collaborate with the client and GIS team members regarding product design requirements and delivery timelines.

    •Develop mobile and web-based solutions that support client operations.

    •Actively work within the GIS enterprise databases to ensure data is at the level of quality defined by established data quality rules.

    •Monitor system and product performance to ensure the continuous delivery of high quality information.

    •Interface with client staff regarding product training and troubleshooting.

    •Manage existing GIS products and processes, pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.

    •Document process workflows and product information.

    Qualifications :

    •5+ years or more of experience as a GIS Analyst, or similar position, with professional level experience required.

    •B.S. or B.A. degree in GIS, Geography, or other science-related field required.

    •Proficient in the use of Esri's ArcGIS desktop applications for data analysis and creating presentation-quality maps.This includes both ArcGIS Desktop and ArcPro required.

    •Experience developing web and/or mobile applications in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS required.

    •Experience working with and supporting Collector for ArcGIS required.

    •Experience creating automated workflows or modifying web applications using Python, HTML, Javascript, or other applicable languages required.

    •Demonstrated experience working in, and updating, Esri enterprise database environments. Previous experience working with versioned datasets is strongly preferred.

    •Strong SQL server capabilities including building and understanding queries, developing and managing views, and understanding stored procedures/job/triggers required.

    •Working knowledge of standard GIS system architectures and workflows required.

    •Proven ability to interface and work effectively with client organizations required.

    •Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required.

    •Experience providing training and product support directly to end users preferred.

    •Experience working in/for municipal agencies or with utility infrastructure work preferred.

    •Experience creating dashboards using Microsoft Power BI preferred.

    •Demonstrated capabilities in multi-variable work flow management: planning, monitoring, and reporting preferred.
